SI-PÓ

A body erupts into space. It looks for heights and alludes to the existence of a tree that may, or may not, be there. It crawls across the ground that was once a forest, lurks, or hides from the predator. It runs, and if it could, it would fly. It tensions, in a subtle state of presence, the ways of seeing and relating to the environment.

Between green and gray, the performer Odacy Oliveira blends these variations in the skin of his body manifesto, drawing with powdered clay and revering the ancestry of places that have now changed. Created by him and the artist Valdemir Oliveira, the performative action addresses the relationships, concerns, sensations and affectations of bodies in and with natural and urban spaces.

The work brings the enchantment for the forest and the pain for the fires in the North of Brazil, reinforcing that it is in the collective that the recognition of each individuality is given. Just as in the forest, the lianas coexist with other beings – being unique, but also being several – the performance proposes encounters and formations of new places and possibilities of existence.
