An inflatable bop bag puppet invites the bodies to move, interacting with it. Conceived and activated by the artist and researcher Flávio Rabelo, the transdisciplinary, durational and participative action initiates conversations about stubbornness, art and society.
From the materiality of the puppet, a relationship of play, dance and fight emerges. In this atmosphere modified by the audience, the performer creates the necessary bonds and agreements for the action to develop in its multiple layers. Staggering from one side to the other, the bop bag puppet evokes childhood memories, promotes dialogues and awakens fundamental elements for collective existence, such as playfulness, imagination and the shameless involvement of bodies.
Created during the Covid-19 pandemic, the performance was structured around questions about the stubbornness needed to continue making art while creating an environment of lightness, fun and freedom. The artist developed the performance over the last few years, in partnership with Cambar Coletivo and Núcleo Fuga!, groups of which he is a member.
