The audience builds the space with the performers in this face-to-face, dancing and multimedia apparition, which proposes a multisensory experience. The action happens between the creation, the sound apparition developed in real time by Elton Panamby and the dance-crossing performed by the artists Tieta Macau, Abeju Rizzo and Inaê Moreira. In the process, they compose and decompose enchanted beings from the magnetized objects in the place.

Allied to the plants of protection and the dances of caboclo*, the performers dance a defense prepared for the attack and research bodies that are between life and death, between the dark and the invisible. Their movements meet dancing and sonorous macumbaria [a kind of Brazilian religious cult], bigger than the spell of gunpowder and the politics of death.

The show, the result of studies of performativity in popular and Afrodiasporic dances, moves between thinking and dancing the contemporary with ancestral cosmologies. The idea is to look at dance from an Afrocentric point of view, distancing itself from the folklore and the stratified patterns of black bodies on stage, and rearticulating narratives to deviate from patterns, proposing ends and – why not? – beginnings.

* caboclo is the designation given, in Brazil, to the person born from the miscegenation of an indigenous with a white person
