tReta, a performative invasion

The work transmutes choreographies spray-painted by social chaos.

Conceived by Original Bomber Crew at the Grande Dirceu, a neighborhood located in the Mata dos Cocais, in the mid-north of the country, the performance is part of a trilogy (“+ Suspeitø”, from 2020, and “Vapor”, from 2021) that deepens the elaboration of what it is to live in the “quebrada” [Brazilian slang for peripheral communities] and resist the attacks of peripheralization, addressing vulnerabilities and new possibilities through dance.

The cast brings together six bodies/interpreters of different arts, attracted by the crossroads perceived as a shared universe for all of them: the street. Artists who, in the historical scarcity of public policies for culture, promote dance, graffiti, photography, video, skateboarding and music practices with communities.

The choreographic and sound research performatively appropriates the architecture of the spaces and incorporates movements from the trajectory of each of the artists, in the construction of a “quebrada dance”.

The work premiered at the Junta Festival de Dança, in Teresina. It was part of the programming of FIT Rio Preto, in São Paulo; the Festival Panorama Pantin, in France; the São Paulo International Theater Festival; and the Panorama Festival, in Rio.
